A single village property, run like a small hotel

Two blocks from Main Street, steps from Mirror Lake — five suites, one address, one host who answers the email herself.

Our Story

A house built for full-time living, now built for stays

Before it was RetreatADK, 2254 Saranac Ave was exactly the kind of century-old village house Lake Placid is full of — solid bones, a walk to everything, and not much in the way of modern comfort. The renovation kept the character (original wood floors, the exposed brick in the second-floor kitchen, the vaulted eaves upstairs) and rebuilt the rest around how people actually travel: real kitchens instead of kitchenettes, a keypad instead of a lockbox hunt, and linens Esther would put on her own bed.

It's still a work in progress — the seasonal suites came later, and a fifth unit is still being finished — but the standard hasn't moved: guests keep independently describing it as "one of the cleanest" and "most accurately described" stays in the village, three separate times, across three separate units.
